“The Twelve Healers” is one of five solo exhibitions created as part of Mifal HaPais Greenhouse of Dana Art Gallery, Kibbutz Yad Mordechai. Each exhibition relates to the human body as a channel for processing pain and loss, whether personal or collective, or for healing and rehabilitation.

The Twelve Healers, Karen Dolev’s series of drawings, uses soft pastels on paper and is inspired by Bach Flower Remedies method—a holistic approach to healing that Dr. Edward Bach developed in England during the 1930s. Bach identified twelve flower essences believed to form the foundation of emotional healing, operating under the idea that mental balance is crucial for physical wellness. are abstract and vibrant, featuring gentle color transitions that visually and energetically represent these flowers. Each piece serves as a pictorial essence, encapsulating both the plant's healing attributes and the emotional spectrum it represents. Collectively, they form a garden of abstract color fields, creating a personal refuge with a nearly transcendental ambiance.

The saturated color fields carry a quality of inner light, seeming to emanate from the works themselves, reminiscent of windows bathing the room in soft colored light that invites reflection and surrender. The drawings do not depict anything concrete; like stained-glass windows in a church, they engage the senses, the body, and the imagination.

Alongside the drawings is a pocket-sized pseudo-botanical guide that navigates between flowers, colors, and emotional states. Instead of scientific or documentary observation, the exhibition offers an almost intuitive and meditative experience. Karen Dolev does not provide a diagnosis; instead, she offers the potential for emotional connection and gentle healing. This may exist in imagination, but increasingly feels real over time spent in the space.
